Lisa Vanderpump vs Yolanda Foster 2016, A View from a Fan

Recently,  episodes 19 and 20 of the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have been leaked online. Those episodes may not be the final edit but a close to finished product.  Those videos have since been made private and very few fans have been able to see them.  I am not one of those fans who has been lucky enough to see those videos but a twitter buddy of mine has hooked us up with clips of episode 19. Those clips are not of good quality and they run for 30 seconds or less so it is a little bit hard to figure out the contexts of those clips. (Even though these clips are not private, I will not share a link to those clips, but you can go follow @HW_Fan15).

One thing that does stick out to me is something Lisa Rinna says and it is pretty much the main motivation for writing this blog. In one clip, Rinna says in her talking head, “Lisa Vanderpump and Yolanda hate each other so much that they are willing to do anything to get at each other, and I think that we are all pawns in the game.”  I must give this disclaimer for those who do not follow my Twitter: Lisa Vanderpump is my favourite from this show so do not be surprise if my blog is written in her favour. Ultimately I am #TeamVanderpump against Rinna, however, I do believe that Rinna is on to something here. Do Yolanda and Vanderpump hate each other? I’m sure Yolanda is the one to hate Vanderpump first and eventually gives Vanderpump a reason to hate her back.

If Rinna is saying that Yolanda and Vanderpump hate each other, then she is saying that Yolanda hate Vanderpump. This blog will back this half of Rinna’s theory.

In season 3, Vanderpump introduces Yolanda to the show as a friend. Vanderpump has since said that prior to the show, she has not been that close to Yolanda but has since became closer and would even consider Yolanda as a friend, even a best friend. During Yolanda’s first season, Vanderpump’s best friend Kyle Richards calls Yolanda “two faced” because Yolanda has been speaking badly about Vanderpump but would act like Vanderpump’s best friend to her face. It should also be noted that for the following season, one time “housewife” Joyce Giraud would blog that, on a separate occasion, Yolanda would talk badly against LVP in hopes to recruit Joyce in this anti-Vanderpump gang up, despite  presenting herself as Vanderpump’s best friend in her presence. Despite these warnings, Vanderpump would remain loyal to Yolanda.

Vanderpump would finally come to believe Kyle (and Joyce for that matter) when she is blind sided by her “best friend” Yolanda and her “issues” with Vanderpump.

Yolanda’s main issue with Vanderpump is that she is a “Hollywood friend”. First, Yolanda claims that due to Lyme disease she has been in bed rest for 18 months (those same 18 cover the time she has been filming seasons 3 and 4, going out and about with the ladies and her then husband, David Foster, so the time length is likely exaggerated). During those “18 months”, Yolanda claims that Vanderpump has only visited her once as oppose to multiple times like fellow housewife Brandi Glanville (this contradicts what Yolanda has blogged months prior, that Vanderpump has actually visited Yolanda multiple times; which one’s the truth?!).

Another example of Vanderpump being a “Hollywood friend” would be Vanderpump being stuck at a business meeting which causes her absence from Yolanda’s painting party to paint tiles for Yolanda’s daughter, Gigi Hadid, to take away with her to New York. Yolanda says to be dissapointed because Vanderpump says that she is really close to all of Yolanda’s kids so her absence is a let down to Gigi, therefore Gigi should be the one upset, not Yolanda. Bare in mind that Gigi is not present at that party and Yolanda is placing more importance on Vanderpump being at that party as oppose to the painting for Gigi which Vanderpump could do at her own time.

By the start of season 5, Yolanda and Vanderpump’s relationship has deteriorated to the point where the two ladies could not be friends (remember Puerto Rico?). Yolanda does reach out to Vanderpump and they do make up, but Yolanda is not done with looking for problems with Vanderpump. Yolanda takes offence to not being invited to two major events in Vanderpump’s life; the opening of PUMP Restaurant and the unveiling of Vanderpump’s star in Palm Springs. To some extent, Yolanda’s hurt feelings can be justified in regards to the star unveiling but Yolanda and Vanderpump have just made up so, in Vanderpump’s view, there’s probably some trust that needs to be restored. However, when it comes to the opening of PUMP (which happens in May, 2014), Yolanda’s hurt feelings are ridiculous as this event occurs BEFORE Vanderpump and Yolanda make up (which happens in June, 2014) so of course Vanderpump would not invite someone she would not be fond of at the time. (Remember at the start of the season prior, Yolanda could not understand why Kyle would invite Yolanda to her party after the two have fallen out? Yet Yolanda expects Vanderpump to invite her to an event when they are not getting along?)

By the end of the production of  season 5, Yolanda and Vanderpump finish on a good note; they have bonded over space cake in Amsterdam. The two gorgeous ladies seem to be on their way to a friendship again…until they would start promoting the season. From Vanderpump’s part, she would speak positively of Yolanda again and says that Yolanda’s apology is geniune. Yolanda on the other hand would write passive aggressive blogs against Vanderpump which would escalate to a Twitter war (fun fact: that Twitter war would result in me getting blocked by Yolanda but I will admit, I was unnecessarily aggressive).

From this fan’s point of view, Yolanda constantly looks for a problem with Vanderpump. I’m assuming that it is rooted to some sort of resentment that Yolanda has had against Vanderpump before Yolanda has joined the show (I have a whole conspiracy theory on that but I’ll leave that for another blog).  I suspect that when Vanderpump brought Yolanda onto this show, she has been unaware of any deep rooted issue that Yolanda would have against her. After everything that has transpired since then, I’m sure Vanderpump has grown frustrated with her but Vanderpump cannot do much about it due to her friendship with Mohamed Hadid (Yolanda’s ex-husband and father of her children…now you have an idea of what my conspiracy theory is).

So going back to Rinna’s quote, I agree with her when she says that Yolanda and Vanderpump hate each other (I’m sure those two ladies may deny this). When Rinna says that those two ladies are ” willing to do anything to get at each other”, well, based on what I’ve seen, I think Yolanda will do anything to get at Vanderpump but I do not know if it is mutual (or maybe I refuse to believe it’s mutual #TeamVanderpump). Are the other ladies “all pawns in the game”? In Yolanda’s game, DEFINITELY! Yolanda is “sick” at the moment and will get a pass (and sympathy) from the other ladies (hopefully Eileen and Erika will open their eyes and see what Yolanda is actually doing). Even thought I hate that Rinna is throwing Vanderpump under the bus, I am glad she is shedding a light to this dynamic because I and many of my fellow twitter buddies and fans have been saying this for a few years: Yolanda is jealous of Vanderpump and wants to take her down!

UPDATE: How could I forget to include this?! That time when Yolanda falsely accuses Vanderpump’s husband, Ken Todd, of assault at the finale party?! At the reunion, Yolanda even believes that she can lie and get away with it (the reunions are usually filmed before the finale is broadcasted, so she probably assumed that it would not be included? Or maybe edited to look worse?) I guess Yolanda does not care what damage her attacks will have.
